Agriculture is chronologically the first object of permaculture and therefore the most studied. There is a great diversity of different approaches to agriculture using permaculture simply because there is a very wide variety of territories and climates. However, what unites these different practices is the search for energy sustainability. It is energy efficiency that is always sought after, whether by avoiding unnecessary work, turning waste into a resource, promoting free services provided by ecosystems, or even reducing consumption and travel.
